A team from the Tony Blair Institute (TBI) has paid a follow-up visit to the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture to continue discussions on areas of collaboration aimed at transforming the fisheries sector.
This meeting follows an initial engagement with the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Hon. Emelia Arthur, where TBI expressed its intention to support the Ministry in four key areas: enhancing marine and inland enforcement, developing inland fisheries, strengthening domestic value addition, and coordinating the Blue Economy sector.
TBI, which operates in 14 African countries, provides technical advisory services to help governments implement transformative reforms. In Ghana, the Institute seeks to offer strategic technical support to drive a data-driven and sustainable fisheries sector.
Hon. Emelia Arthur expressed her gratitude to the TBI team for their continued interest and support. She acknowledged the Institute’s efforts toward strengthening the Ministry’s capacity and reaffirmed the Ministry’s full commitment to ensuring that their support is effectively utilized and implemented.
This ongoing partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the Ministry’s goal of building a more efficient, inclusive, and sustainable fisheries and aquaculture sector in Ghana.
