Hon. Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, has met with the Bulk Fish Importers Association to discuss key challenges facing the industry.
The association, which supplies 60–80% of Ghana’s fish needs, raised concerns over rising Fisheries Development Levy costs, which have led to increased fish prices.
They proposed a flat rate to stabilize port pricing and called for better regulation of fish imports to ensure fair competition.
The Minister acknowledged their challenges and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to addressing their concerns while appreciating their crucial role in Ghana’s seafood market.

Strengthening partnerships for a sustainable and affordable seafood supply.
